It's hard to believe we're coming up on Jack's second Halloween. We celebrated a week early this year (not to say that we won't go out next weekend) in Lincoln Square, one of the more kid-friendly neighborhoods in the city. The stores up and down Lincoln Avenue did a great job of decorating, and more importantly, handing out candy. Last year Jack didn't go trick-or-treating, and it took him a couple of times before he got the hang of it, but before we knew it we'd exploited his cuteness to the tune of a couple pockets full of candy.

OK, I admit it, we've been spending a lot of time at the beach lately. Is it strange that I prefer the beach at 60 degrees as opposed to 80 degrees? To me this is the best time of year to go - it's not too hot, the crowds have gone away, and there's plenty of room for Finley to run free.
